The Fife Council Central and West Planning Committee has agreed to the proposal to build a McDonalds at the Duloch Tesco Car Park, which Liberal Democrat Councillor for Dunfermline South James Calder voted against.

Liberal Democrat candidate for the Scottish Parliament for Dunfermline, Aude Boubaker-Calder, is angry that councillors from the other parties supported the planning application.

Aude Boubaker-Calder has said,

“Councillor Calder made a sensible motion to reject this planning application. I am very disappointed that most of the councillors disagreed both with him and local residents that this will cause a huge level of traffic problems.

“I really don’t think there should be another fast food outlet here. I think it will cause distress to a number of local residents due to noise and littering as well as the traffic chaos it will create.

“As it is close to a school, this might also contribute to the already high levels of childhood obesity and is a ticking time bomb for the health of our pupils.”

“I’m writing to the Tesco supermarket to ask them to reconsider this project.”

I can’t express how disappointed I also am at the decision regarding the McDonalds in the Tesco car park.
The littering will be untenable. The bins at the side of the park are either full or 75% full at the end of each day. What will it be like with the huge bags of cardboard and paper waste smeared in food scraps not to mention attracting the gulls all next to two schools. This is ludicrous. PLEASE HELP STOP THIS.
