Anger as the SNP and Labour fail to support local businesses in Fife

by Aude Boubaker-Calder on 26 April, 2021

On Monday, parking charges are set to be returning across Fife. Liberal Democrat candidate for Dunfermline, Aude Boubaker-Calder, is appalled that the SNP and Labour coalition running the Council has agreed to this.

Aude Boubaker-Calder has said,

“Our high streets and especially local businesses have had a dreadful year, and many in the retail and hospitality sector will be looking forward to reopening. However, I am appalled to see that the SNP and Labour coalition running Fife Council are reintroducing full parking charges straight away from the 26th of April.”

“We need to put recovery first by supporting local businesses and help them to thrive again. While I understand there might be the need to have parking charges, it would make sense to help local businesses to get back on their feet and encourage people back to the shops by keeping parking free for a short time.”

“The Liberal Democrats are prioritising recovery, and for those who want our local businesses to thrive, I would urge them to support us this May.”
